Nature's Haven:
A Wildlife Rehabilitation Shelter serving the Brazos Valley Area of Texas
![]()
About Nature's Haven-
Who are we??Nature's Haven
is a non-profit organization, incorporated with the following goals in mind:
To provide care for sick, injured, and orphan wildlife and return them to the wild.
To provide education and instruction in wildlife rehabilitation, management, and conservation of wildlife and it's inhabitants.
Nature's Haven was established to help serve the Brazos Valley with the rescue of our area's wildlife. Our non-profit organization is run by licensed wildlife rehabilitators and specially trained volunteers living in the Brazos Valley. We operate under permits from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Successfully rehabilitated animals are released into carefully selected natural habitats that offer the greatest chance of survival.
We do everything we can to provide the best possible care for the animals arriving at Nature's Haven. Sometimes this means seeking veterinary assistance. Many local veterinarians donate their time, equipment, and expertise to help us rehabilitate sick or injured wildlife. Unfortunately, they cannot always absorb all of the expenses.. that's how You can make a difference!!
W
hile we care for a wide variety of wildlife, we are unable to care for most reptiles, pets, or other domestic animals. We can, however, offer referrals to the appropriate animal care agencies who have the space and experience necessary to care for them.Education-
what else do we do??I
n addition to rehabilitating wildlife, Nature's Haven provides educational programs for local schools, community groups, and private gatherings of all ages to raise public awareness of the special needs of our native wildlife. These programs include slide presentations, handouts, and other displays appropriate to the audience. We will gladly bring our program to your next event. Please call the shelter to register.Volunteerism-
You can make a difference!!T
he rehabilitators at Nature's Haven are not paid for the services they provide. In fact, most of our funding comes from our own pockets, and through generous donations from members of the community who bring us wildlife in need of help. All donated funds support the center and the wildlife in our care by covering operating expenses, feed costs, rehabilitation equipment, animal housing materials, and medical supplies and treatment. What can you do?? Lots!!
Donate money or supplies- Every dollar donated helps bring one more animal closer to release. We are also in need of the following: towels, blankets, jars of baby food (to feed young fledglings) birdseed, airline pet carriers, top quality dog and cat food, first aid supplies, cages, cage wire, and rabbit hutches. Donations to Nature's Haven are tax deductible.
Volunteer your time- We have numerous volunteer opportunities available. Volunteers are needed to assist with all aspects of the shelters operation, including answering telephones, transporting animals, and providing basic care. Training is provided for all positions.
